The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Happenings

Mother is OK but wrecked her car today. She ran into a culvert, she said, and the car just fell apart on the right side. She called Butch and had lots of help from passers-by. I told her that she needs to get a cell phone to have for emergencies, and I think she will. Now she's going to also need to get a new car. If any of you know of anyone who has one to sell that's safe and has been taken care of, let us know. Thanks.

I'm going to see Virginia tomorrow in Lawrenceburg where my new house isn't. Her mother Paige will be there to stay with her during her radiation treatments. Virginia has breast cancer and has finished chemo. She's doing pretty well, but it's going to be so good to see her again, as well as Paige. I've missed her so much and think about Virginia all the time. I'm going to ride with her friend from high school Regina. I taught her and her daughter and late husband. It should be a really good day. I'm looking forward to it.

I went to see Dr. David Ross Thursday after school about my blood pressure and thyroid. I like him. My blood pressure has been high for a few months, and I've been taking something prescribed by that endocrinologist I didn't like. I'm taking a new kind along with the old ones and go back to see him Thursday. He also said for me to buy Protein Power which is a low-carb diet. I went in Friday morning for all kinds of blood work in order to have a baseline to compare with later on. So I'll be on a diet soon and will finally end the longest ever working-up-to-a-diet time period. It's been years!! Sort of like how long I've been talking about getting my house organized and clean. I'm determined to feel good again and will do what I need to.
