The Waking
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Various Quizzes and Lazy Blogging
Here are some quizzes that might be fun. Then I'll post the next trivia quiz next week. What happened is that I looked up answers to some questions I had concerning Popes since I wondered if Pope John Paul II had the longest reign of any of them (no, third longest) and to confirm the ones I could remember: Pope Pius (couldn't remember his number - XII), John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I, and John Paul II. Here's a complete list of Popes.
Although I disagree with some of Pope John Paul's beliefs, I admire him for the many things he did to help people all over the world, especially the apologies about the Holocaust and Galileo. He was instrumental in fall of Communism and practices which caused suffering for many people. He'll be difficult to replace.
Then I took some quizzes and thought I'd share the results and see what you are on the ones you take. Here you go ...
I thought this was pretty neat when I looked her up.

I like this, too, since almost all of my ancestors are English. There are a couple of Cherokees in there which works well with my saint.
You are the Celtic Cross: This cross was first made out of stone and is often found atop hills, in front of castles and in graveyards throughout Ireland and Scotland. The stone was carved with various symbols including a circle or halo (representing eternal life) and variations of the celtic knot.
