The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Spring Break

My teacher friends are on spring break this week and next, so I'm getting to spend time with them. Monday Tina, Rachel, Frances, and I went to Franklin to shop and have lunch downtown on Main Street. The shops there have interesting clothes, home accessories, and all kinds of neat stuff in them. We ate at HRH Dumplin' and enjoyed being out and about during the week and not in school!

Tuesday I went to the retired teacher's luncheon meeting. For some reason I agreed to be president next year which will begin in June. It's not one of those honors but a situation where no one wants it so they get one of the new members to do it.

Tina and I went to Clarksville today to Memories in Bloom (a scrapbook store) and Hobby Lobby. It was fun to look at everything and to add some albums, paper, and stickers to our supply. We made the mistake of eating at the Flame Grill. Not good! It made us sick. Don't go!! We learned our lesson and should have gone to the Olive Garden which was our first thought.

I'm working tomorrow afternoon. A grueling 4-hour work week! How do I do it?
