The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Irony

It's ironic that I'd add a comment box to my blog, isn't it? One service more than handles the number of comments I get on here. :-)

I have a suggestion. The house contest has been extended for three more months because they didn't get enough entries. While I'm sure none of you wants me to win the house enough to spend $125, I'd like for you to enter the contest and write poorly. Or you could encourage as many people as possible to enter it who don't write well. It's just this type of attitude that will keep me from winning. It's an Instant Karma kind of thing. Perhaps we should go for a telethon instead.

I'm so tired!! My feet hurt and I'm wiped out. First of all, I'm not used to getting up before 9:00 and working this much in a day. I have to walk pretty far and be in a room with many teenagers. Two years seems so far away! I can and will retire then.
