The Waking
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Prison Animals
Trivia King MF wrote in his blog about which book he'd take with him to prison and made a good case for his choice. Then he asked why he would be in prison. Good question. I can't think of any crime he'd commit that would put him away like that, but it is something to wonder about - sort of like what animal you'd be. So ... what would get you in prison? Or if you prefer, what animal are you most like? I've been told I look like Tweetie Bird - or used to. Now I might remind me of an older cat who sleeps, eats, and looks out the window most of the time. As for prison, I'll have to think about that one. Probably for keeping the unmarked bag of money (squillions of dollars) that falls from the sky although I've already planned how to keep anyone from finding out about it by reading John Grisham novels. The truth is that I actually have spent time thinking about this.
What about you?
