The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Oscars

As usual I watched the Oscars and mentioned the winners in that post of the nominees. I now have my movie watching cut out for me. I missed all of the main ones and plan to see them. The ones I watched have to do with having grandchildren - The Incredibles, Shrek 2, Lemony Snicket, and Shark Tale. I also watched the documentary Super Size Me as well as Collateral and Independent Spirit nominees The Door in the Floor and Garden State (which won and was quite good). Now I am going to see Ray, Million Dollar Baby, The Aviator, Sideways, Being Julia, Hotel Rwanda, Finding Neverland, Closer, Maria Full of Grace, Vera Drake, Eternal Sunshine, Motorcycle Diaries, Kinsey, and others. Quite a list. I wait to watch some on DVD and will be watching most of those that way. I can see some during Spring Break week after next. I'm looking forward to that time off and am so excited about retirement, which I now call graduation! It's going to be great!! Can hardly wait!
