The Waking
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Trivia Quiz
I know some of these! That's always exciting.
1. PP - What were the airports at which Charles Lindbergh began and ended his first transatlantic flight?
2. AE - Who manages the convenience store in The Simpsons?
3. HS - What type of Trinidadian music has the same name as a mythological Greek nymph?
4. SN - What is the common term used to refer to light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation?
5. SL - Who did Mohammed Ali fight in the "Rumble in the Jungle"?
6. WC - What do a Blue Squid, a Crimson Tide, and a Golden Dragon have in common?
7. MV - This film is based on a novel by John O'Brien (who unfortunately committed suicide just after selling the rights to his book). This is a depressing saga of prostitution, gambling, and alcoholism. Nicholas Cage was named Best Actor for his role in the film. (Gena and I saw this together and she HATED it so much.)
