The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

The Show

Jackie's show was wonderful last night. She is so talented and has poise, stage presence, and entertaining stories. Earl said he's heard a bunch of storytellers and that Jackie is the best he's heard. She really is good. Jackie said that was the most responsive audience she's had and that the venue there at the Renaissance Center is also the best. The drummers said they loved it here, too, and want to come back. Jackie has a couple of other shows she's created, so maybe she can. This show sold out.

Brian, Melissa, and Brendan also came down to go. Unfortunately, Melissa didn't get to see the whole performance because Brendan wanted to be on stage, too. He kept talking, so she took him out. Im so sorry she missed a lot of it but am glad she was there. He knew the words about being quiet but hasn't applied them yet. He'll learn.
