The Waking
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Outage
Power, that is. I had quite the post written Tuesday and was almost finished with it when the electricity went off briefly. We have suicidal squirrels in the neighborhood which is one cause for that. Anyway, I'll try to recreate it later on.
Brendan and I had a good weekend and went to the park in White Bluff Sunday afternoon. We really liked it there, and Brendan played, explored, and followed older girls anywhere they led. He's such a mimic and can recreate any sounds he hears. He also watches other children and does what they are doing. While this is a quality necessary for actors, I hope this won't translate to going along with the crowd and get him in trouble. Both his parents are independent thinkers who set a good example and also teach Brendan about responsible choices and consequences. To which he responds, "No consequences! No consequences!" or "It is of no consequence."
