The Waking
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Shall We Dance?
I watched the first round of America's Ballroom Challenge tonight. Here's a link to more information about it. No one from Nashville was in the competition tonight. Ben and Shalene Archer Ermis retired from competition after winning it a couple of times, I think, so maybe there aren't any more couples right now who are in that league from here. They were on it last year. There aren't any that I remember from the competition in Nashville when Linda and I went, but that doesn't mean they aren't there since I hadn't heard of any of them and was trying to watch too many of them at the same time. It's a whole different world I wish I'd known about back when the Nashville couple were dancing on this. It's fascinating to watch. They've discussed adding ballroom dancing to the Olympics. I wish they would since it's not that different from ice dancing in many ways. What do you think?
