The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Trivia Quiz

Not many answers to the other quiz for some reason and very few clever, witty comments either. Better luck this time.

1. PP - What country lists 8% of its population as Maori?
2. AE - What was the first word that Helen Keller uttered in the 1962 movie The Miracle Worker?
3. HS - What mass-produced gold item did President Theodore Roosevelt commission famous sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens to design?
4. SN - What is a stickleback?
5. SL - What year was Yankee shortstop Phil Rizzuto finally inducted into the Hall of Fame?
6. WC - What type of vehicle profited from the first use of Michelin tires?
7. MV - This movie featured the song "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head." Two outlaws and an ex-school teacher gang up. Paul Newman and Robert Redford play in this classic western. (one of my faves)
