The Waking
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Being Social
I attended the wedding of a former student last evening. It was at Montgomery Bell outside near the church. The weather cooperated, and it was beautiful. Beth looked gorgeous and so happy. Her sisters were lovely and there for her as they always have been. Celtic and Appalachain music played by a group of their friends, and there were CD's of their music as gifts for the guests. They played at the reception as well. It was wonderful to see students from that class. I enjoyed them so much all the years I taught them, and we had a good time reminiscing and catching up. It was fun to hear what they are doing now. Teaching gifted students is an education in itself at the time and years after.
It is good to see wedding couples have so much fun at their weddings. Brian and Melissa did at theirs, too. I enjoyed seeing people I hadn't been around in a long time and to see some doctors socially for a change. I thought it was interesting what my horoscope said when I checked it online last night after I got home. Good advice that I'll try to follow!
Libra
One of your great joys is meeting interesting people whose conversations aren't limited to complaints about the weather, the traffic and their jobs. You almost clap your hands in glee when today's events bring you into contact with a host of fascinating folk. Don't allow these exchanges to be a one-shot deal. Encourage and develop personal friendships with the most compatible individuals. That way, you can continue to expand your horizons and enjoy their unique perceptions.
