The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Trivia Rule

OK, here's our only trivia rule. If you can't be right, be clever. A funny answer goes a long way, and we all need a good laugh. I wish I'd saved all the hilarious answers students gave on tests, some intentional and some not. Some of them would write the correct answer and then a witty one because they were like me and couldn't resist.

Now for more questions from the Know-It-All Edition. Have fun!

1. People & Places - What European singing group got its name by combining the initials of its members' first names?

2. Arts & Entertainment - What is character Joey Tribiani's occupation on the sitcom Friends? Bonus: Who plays Joey?

3. History - What 1937 work of art by Picasso was painted in response to a nationalist bombing during the Spanish Civil War?

4. Science & Nature - What German microbiologist postulated the Germ Theory of Disease in 1882?

5. Sports & Leisure - What boxer quit a championship bout with the statement, "No mas"?

6. Wild Card - What animal taught Dr. Dolittle to talk to the animals?

7. Movie - Ving Rhames starred in this 1996 picture.

This is the movie I went to see while I was waiting to call about the results from that first fine-needle aspiration. I called from a pay phone in the lobby of the cineplex in Bellevue and found out it was lymphoma. Gena went to see a Jim Carrey movie with her children in one of the other theaters. This is why I always remember the year it was released.

Michelle was right about the movie. It is the original Mission Impossible. Here are the other clues - An IMF team is sent to recover a computer disk. This Tom Cruise movie grossed more than $100 million in the first two weeks.
