The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

This 'n That

Yesterday morning I kept Brendan for the first time, just the two of us. It was great! He smiles and "talks" and is so sweet. We made it just fine. Melissa went to a plastic surgeon to have a vascular tumor removed from her thumb. Now she has a huge bandage on it and is supposed to keep her hand elevated above her heart for a week. Sure! That's easy to do - especially with a baby to take care of! We had a good visit too. I'm enjoying spending more time with them.

I heard from Kathy again recently and hope to see a ballgame before the season is over. Both the girls play softball, and Luke plays T-ball. I am fortunate to have such neat children and grandchildren.

I had an appointment with an endocrinologist at Centennial - Andrea Hayes. I liked her. When I go back in a couple of weeks, I'll get the results from the blood tests. They are also checking hormone levels for estrogen and testosterone too. It will be good to find out about all this and get things in balance. Guess I need to start losing weight now by eating more healthfully and exercising. My time of sloth is coming to an end. Better that than me!
