The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Geeks and Nerds

Michelle sent me a Geek Test which I took and proved that I am not very geeky (not that I've ever been accused of it or mistaken for one). I might have some nerd tendencies though - maybe just a few. Geeks and nerds can overlap but are different. Being a geek requires scientific, computer, science fiction, LOTR, Star Wars, D&D, gaming, and such as that. Nerds can be literary and enjoy learning. I do know about geeks. I was married to one and had one growing up in my house. I think it's probably passed on genetically from fathers. I'm sure it helps to have supportive, witty, movie-buffs for mothers. Obviously, I like nerds and geeks and enjoyed teaching them for sixteen years. I have them for friends and relatives. Dare, if you will, to post your scores and tell the world (as we know it) your status and/or opinion. My score is ~ 20.9073% - Geek ~ which proves that on this test I do have tendencies and am sort of one but won't admit it.

I've just thought of notable exceptions to the father's genes theory. Never mind!
