The Waking
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Tradition
Tonight I continue my tradition of watching the Oscars complete with print-out of the nominees to check off the winners. I've never missed one since I got to start watching them. I'm not sure when that was since I think we got a TV when I was around 7 or 8. I don't remember but do recall watching them in black and white with my parents.
In two weeks we have spring break - two weeks of spring break!! I like this modified year-round block schedule we're on for several reasons. One of them is that no matter how difficult the classes are, they only last a semester which is why I'm really happy this term. I really enjoy my classes and am glad to be around them. If I could have classes like these, I could teach many more years and be happy about it.
