The Waking

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.

Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.

This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

TV Tonight

The BAFTA's (British Academy of Film Awards) is on BBC-America tonight, so my evening is planned! I enjoyed it last year, especially since Stephen Fry hosts it. He's hilarious! Trinny and Susannah from What Not to Wear on BBC-A are doing a pre-awards commentary about fashion. At least they aren't Joan and Melissa Rivers but are cringingly blunt. I'm not sure why we have to encourage each other and copy the worst aspects of America and England and perpetuate them on TV.

ps ... The What Not to Wear show before the awards was good. They took a couple of women who were attending the awards show and dressed them for it. I got some helpful ideas from it.

The BAFTA show was good. Stephen Fry is always wonderful. Lord of the Rings added more accolades to its collection. I really do need to see those. Lost in Translation is another I want to see since Sofia Coppola and Bill Murray and Scarlett Johannson have all won various awards for it. There is a list of movies I haven't seen that I want to. Hope to rectify that soon.
