The Waking
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I cannot go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree, but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Snow and Games
My theory has been proven once again that we have a snow shield over our county. It snowed big time to the south of us this time. It snows to the north, to the south, to the east, and to the west of us. Yet somehow it misses us. Very odd! This needs investigating.
Lawrenceburg always gets the worst weather in the state for some reason. That is where the house I didn't win is located. Bill Hall gave a reason for that on the weather report one time, but of course I can't remember what he said.
When I wrote about the games, I neglected to mention the famous Poker Group I was in for a few years. Several of us women got together on a regular basis and played poker. It was a combination of playing poker, laughing, support, friendship, and all kinds of things that meant so much to all of us. Mary Faulkner mentioned us on page 11 of her book Women's Spirituality.
